Each and every time I get to help shift a family’s relationship with food I am consumed with honor.
Honestly, my client is the Mom, not the family, but I curate her pathway by including every family member. She has goals and I support and guide her to each one. She is making expeditious progress and continues to call my work magic. (that never gets old )
Her 14 year old son likes to cook. So he and I cook together.
Her husband has a long list of preferences, so we make 1 single meal to make sure he is heard.
Her 7 year old son isn’t keen on green things, so we get curious about all things food offers other than color… flavor, texture, smell, what is similar, temperature, all without judgment.
She was raised by a Mom who opened a can and poured contents into a pot. As a child, her action in the kitchen held judgment, so I threw out her rule book.
In the kitchen we laugh, we dance, we ask questions and we try things because we can.
Tonight we grabbed a bunch of spring veggies, some penne, a pasta alternative, a delicious lemon cream garlic sauce and along with her family created, consumed and cleaned up the family meal together.
Oh, and we prepped homemade pizzas and put them in the fridge for a fun way to finish of Friday. Dinner tomorrow is DONE, as are the dishes!
She has hired private chefs to come cook for her family in the past. Chefs passionate about cooking.
Though this took the stress off her to prepare a meal each night for her family it didn’t help her grow beyond how she always framed what was possible for herself.
Kids still complained. Fulfillment was short lived. Overwhelm returned. Again. Again. And again.
She came to a place she wanted a different relationship to food for her children and finally, as an adult, for herself.
So she hired a health coach.
I adore what I do!
